KOMLJENOVIC AT THE TOP WITH VAISSER (by GM Vlado Kovacevic)

Krunoslav Hulak did not manage to break through the defense of Vlastimil Jansa, but that did not influence the wonderful evening of the Croatian chess players - Bojan Kurajica won the game against Klaus Klundt fromGermany, Vlado Kovacevic won the game against Vladimir Karasev from Russia and Miso Cebalo won the game against Bo Jacobsen from Denmark. Josip Rukavina and William Kelleher played to draw. Having won the game against the Ukrainian Oleg Chernov, the Slovakian Gennadij Timoscenko is closer to the top now.
After the seventh round, Komljenovic and Vaisser are at the top with 6 points, and Rashkovski, Hulak, Jansa, Kuyindzhi, Chernikov, Timoscenko, Kovacevic, Zhelnin, Okhotnik, Kurajica and Sloth are behind the leading two with 5.5 points.
In the Women's Section we saw so many draws at the first boards, so there were not any major changes at the top. Tamar Khmiadashvili joined the leading players. Ludmila Saunina is still leading with 5.5 points while Gaprindashvili, Strutinskaya, Khmiadashvili and Melashvili have 5 points.
