21st World Senior Chess Championship 2011 - Opening Ceremony

ORGANIZERS ARE READY FOR THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 21st WORLD SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

slide_20111113_anatoly_vaisserAll technical preparations have finished and the organizers are ready for the grand opening of the 21st world senior chess championship. The opening ceremony will be held in the congress centre "Tamaris" in Opatija. According to the most recent information, 250 participants from 46 national federations from all continents have been registered.

21st World Senior Chess Championship 2011

senior_plakatThe Championship will be held in Opatija, Croatia, from November 14, 2011 (arrival of the participants) until November 25th (day of departure) 2011.
The 21st World senior chess championship for men and women is open to all players representing the FIDE Chess Federations, regardless of their title or rating, providing that the men are older than 60 and women 50 years of age. For example, each participant in the 2011 Championship must be born in 1951 or earlier (women - 1961) to be allowed to participate. There is also no limit of participants per federation.

TRANSPORT

The transport from the nearby airports to the hotels and back may be organised for the participants, at their cost, providing that the Organiser is informed about their arrival / departure details at least 15 days in advance. more >>>

The organizer will provided the cheapest accomodation ever, in luxurious hotel in Opatija, the famous croatian tourist resort only a few kilometers distant from Rijeka.  more >>>
